      OVER-THE-COUNTER PRODUCTS FOR FAT LOSS

The next class of fat-loss products are OTC (over-the-counter) products, which means you can get them at any shop which retails them, without the need for a doctor’s prescription. Although OTC fat-loss products are not ‘medical-grade’, they are by no means less effective. In fact, there are some who claim that certain OTC products work just as well, if not better, than prescription fat-loss drugs. Similarly, OTC products can also produce side effects for its users, which means that they should be consumed with discretion. However, generally speaking, they are less toxic in comparison to prescription drugs, and hence the likelihood of developing serious side-effects is greatly diminished.

Some OTC products contain proprietary blends, i.e. you virtually have no idea what the exact proportions of their ingredients are. This could be potentially unsafe, as the amount of a particular ingredient component (eg. Caffeine) could be much higher than its recommended daily dosage. Many OTC products are also not FDA-regulated, which means they are not legally bound to work as claimed, so do exercise some caution before buying. If possible, do your own research on the product to avoid being disappointed or scammed.

In my opinion, the best OTC fat-loss products are in fact, Bodybuilding supplements. This comes as no surprise, considering the fact that bodybuilding is such a huge industry, with supplement companies spending millions and millions of dollars each year on cutting-edge scientific research to develop their products. Just take a look at any competitive bodybuilder, and you’ll soon realize that it is impossible to get so incredibly lean without the aid of any fat-burning substances. Over the years, I have personally tried out dozens and dozens of bodybuilding fat-loss products. Some were excellent, helping me burn off excess fat pretty quickly; some were average, and many were just plain crap.

On this page, I have compiled a list of the most effective OTC fat-loss products currently in the market. Of course, there are hundreds of other fat-loss products out there which aren’t all that totally useless. However, to save you from all that confusion in the sea of products, I’ve only bothered to list the ones that are absolutely top-notch and ahead of the competition. So in a way, I’ve already done the homework for you. (And just in case you think I’m giving you a sales pitch, know that these products have also received good reviews and positive feedback from many other users on various internet forums and usenet groups, so it isn’t just me who’s giving them the thumbs up. )

OTC fat loss products are divided into 2 main categories: -

(a)  Stimulants
A stimulant is a substance that increases the activity of the sympathetic nervous system and produces a sense of euphoria or the feeling of being more awake. Stimulants can be used as recreational drugs or therapeutic drugs to increase alertness. They are also used and sometimes abused to boost endurance and productivity as well as to suppress appetite (anorectic effect). Examples of common stimulants include caffeine and amphetamines. Ephedrine, which is chemically related to amphetamines, has long been proven to be extremely effective in fat loss.

(b)  Stimulant-free
Stimulant-free fat loss products are the latest rage in the OTC fat loss products industry, offering users an alternative to stimulant products. They claim to be just as effective as stimulants, but without the side effects usually associated with the latter, eg. jitters and insomnia. Stimulant-free fat loss products supposedly enhance the body’s fat burning capacity through means other than the direct stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system.

NOTE:     All products listed in this section have been verified to be LEGITIMATE fat loss products, i.e. they do work, in varying degrees. I wouldn’t even bother to include them here if they were rubbish. (No point wasting my time, or YOURS). Please note that these are independent reviews and NOT sales letters or ads. The author(s) of these reviews were not paid to write these reviews. All products reviewed here were personally tested out either by MYSELF, or by other highly credible sources with no affiliations whatsoever with the product companies, thus ruling out the chance of a wily marketer trying to pass off a sales pitch here as a ‘critical unbiased review’.
