NOTE:     All products listed in this section have been verified to be LEGITIMATE fat loss products, i.e. they do work, in varying degrees. I wouldn’t even bother to include them here if they were rubbish. (No point wasting my time, or YOURS). Please note that these are independent reviews and NOT sales letters or ads. The author(s) of these reviews were not paid to write these reviews. All products reviewed here were personally tested out either by MYSELF, or by other highly credible sources with no affiliations whatsoever with the product companies, thus ruling out the chance of a wily marketer trying to pass off a sales pitch here as a ‘critical unbiased review’.
PRESCRIPTION WEIGHT LOSS DRUGS
No question about it, prescription fat-loss medications really do work, and they are probably the closest thing you’ll ever get to a ‘miracle fat-loss wonderpill’. If they weren’t that highly effective, pharmaceutical giants eg. Roche and Pfizer would never have risked their multibillion-dollar reputations to produce and sell them worldwide.

However, like most wonderful things on this planet, there are downsides as well. First of all, these drugs don’t come cheap. A single dosage can cost a couple of dollars, and a whole month’s supply will easily set you back a few hundred dollars. In addition, prescription fat-loss drugs, being as effective as they are, also come with a whole array of side effects. Which is why they warrant a doctor’s prescription in the first place. Side effects can range from the very mild (eg. Dry mouth) to severe and life-threatening (eg. Cardiac arrests). Of course, there are many people who never experience any side effects at all throughout their entire course of medication, so it basically varies from person to person.

Apart from this, most of these prescription fat-loss drugs (the exception being Xenical ) are stimulants and appetite suppressants, and have chemical structures similar to amphetamines. In fact, the drug Didrex, in particular, has the drawback of making one test positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine in urine drug screens, which might constitute somewhat of a legal hassle in certain jurisdictions. Despite boosting energy levels and increasing mental alertness, there is a great possibility of users developing a dependency (albeit psychological) on these amphetamine-related fat-loss drugs as a result. Many users who have stopped taking these drugs have reported suffering a ‘crash’ after-effect, characterized by extreme fatigue and listlessness. Due to its euphoria-giving properties, abuse of these medications by users is also widespread.

In my opinion, prescription fat-loss drugs should only be taken in extreme cases, such as obesity, hypothyroidism or compulsive eating disorders, where alternative remedies have failed. It is imperative to follow the recommended dosage strictly, do not try to increase the dosage without a doctor’s recommendation. With the rise of online pharmacies on the internet nowadays, it is fairly easy to get an online doctor’s prescription for any drug, i.e. you don’t have to be present in person for the doctor to give you a prescription, all you need to do is to fill out some medical questionnaire pertaining to the drug you’re interested in.

So basically, you don't need a prescription to be able to get prescription drugs.

In short, this leaves the system open for abuse, as there are no measures in check to weed out the genuine obese patients and the vain teenagers looking to achieve his six-pack. As such, for those of you who are somehow able to get hold of these drugs without any adequate prior medical advice, be warned! Taking these drugs without any form of medical advice and supervision could be extremely detrimental to your health and is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED!!!
